Rakin’ Bacon! is AGS’s golden-pig slot series: the first game reached casino floors in 2018, and AGS says it took the game into real-money online play in 2019. In the US, dated launches put it online in New Jersey and Pennsylvania in January 2023 and in Michigan with BetMGM by August 2025, for players 21 and over who are physically inside those states. The original online game is a 3x5, 243-ways slot where coin wilds feed a golden pig, with four fixed jackpots and free games in which you choose your own volatility.
The pig and the company behind it
AGS dates its first Rakin’ Bacon! game to 2018, and its franchise page calls the pig Cornsquealius. By AGS’s own count, it has launched 15 Rakin’ Bacon! themes and deployed more than 5,500 Rakin’ Bacon! games. Those are the studio’s figures, not independent ones.
AGS changed hands in 2025. Brightstar Capital Partners completed its take-private of PlayAGS on June 30, 2025, a deal of about $1.1 billion at $12.50 a share, and the stock left the New York Stock Exchange. The business still trades as AGS. Brightstar Capital Partners has no connection to Brightstar Lottery, the former IGT PLC.
Which Rakin’ Bacon games are online?
AGS told investors on its second-quarter 2019 earnings call that Rakin’ Bacon was one of four titles it launched into real-money online channels that quarter, without naming the markets. The dated US launches since then:
- January 24, 2023. Caesars Sportsbook & Casino added more than 30 AGS titles, Rakin’ Bacon! among them, in New Jersey and Pennsylvania.
- February 6, 2023. DraftKings Casino in New Jersey.
- February 19, 2024. Rakin’ Bacon Odyssey in New Jersey, exclusive online to Caesars Palace Online Casino and on the floors at Caesars, Tropicana and Harrah’s in Atlantic City.
- July 19, 2024. Rakin’ Bacon Sahara in New Jersey, exclusive to Hard Rock Bet and Hard Rock Atlantic City.
- August 18, 2025. Rakin’ Bacon! Jackpots Bonus Wheel at BetMGM in New Jersey and Michigan, the franchise’s first three-reel game. AGS and BetMGM said every new Rakin’ Bacon! title would debut online exclusively at BetMGM.
How Rakin’ Bacon plays covers the reels, ways and bets, and how Odyssey and Jackpots Bonus Wheel differ from the original.
How the pig, the jackpots and the free games work
Coin wilds landing on the reels can make the pig grow, and the pig can burst into the Jackpot Pick Bonus, where you pick until three symbols match and win one of four fixed jackpots: Grand, Major, Minor or Mini. In the free games you trade spins for grid size, up to 5x5 and 3,125 ways. The Rakin’ Bacon bonus features walks through each step.
RTP and volatility
AGS publishes the original online game at 95.89% RTP and rates it high volatility. The spin-offs run at different settings: Borgata Online’s rules files list Odyssey and Sahara at 92.02%, 94.01% or 94.99%. Jackpots Bonus Wheel awards one of four in-game jackpots online, while the same title on a casino floor uses tiered progressives. Rakin’ Bacon RTP and volatility works through what those numbers mean in dollars, and our guide to progressive jackpots explains the difference between fixed and progressive prizes.
