On this page
The published RTP of an online Wheel of Fortune slot runs from 92.50% to 96.60%, and the figure depends on the version you open. Megaways is listed at 96.46%, Ruby Riches and Hawaiian Getaway at 96.15%, Ultra 5 Reels at 95.96% and Triple Extreme Spin at 94.22%, while On Tour has a range of its own because its return rises as you reach new levels. IGT rates only the Megaways version for volatility, and calls it high.

RTP is a long-run average over a very large number of spins by many players. The rules files say so themselves, and add that one player’s results over a session can swing widely either side of it, more so the fewer spins you play. These figures come from one or two operators’ game pages; another casino could run a different build, so the number on the game’s own rules screen is the one that applies to you. For how RTP compares with table games, see slots vs table games.
Why On Tour’s RTP rises as you level up
On Tour’s Level Up Plus feature collects fuel from Bonus scatters and moves you along a map with six levels to reach. The rules file says that every level adds a feature, most of them new slices on the bonus wheel, and boosts the payback, and that your fuel and map position carry over between sessions. It gives the game’s theoretical return as 92.50% to 96.60%.
In practice, the figure that applies to your spins depends on how far your progress has gone. A player at the start is at the low end of that range; the top of it needs every level reached. The file does not give the RTP for each level. Level progress is not a reason to keep playing: every spin is still independent, and even the highest figure returns less than you stake over the long run.
Volatility: what IGT says and what it leaves out
IGT’s 2021 release on the game’s rollout calls Wheel of Fortune Megaways high volatility. For the other versions, IGT publishes no rating, and this guide does not assign one.
In general terms, a game that pays a large share of its return through bonus rounds and wheel spins tends to deliver longer runs of small or no wins between features, with bigger swings when a feature lands. Treat that as a reason to size your session budget for the dry spells, not as a forecast for any single version.
Jackpot versions and why the eligibility rules matter
Wheel of Fortune Gold Spin Triple Red Hot 7s, a stepper-style game in Borgata Online’s jackpot section, shows why the small print matters. Its rules give two routes to the progressive:
- At a bet of $5 or more, three Wheel of Fortune symbols on payline 1 win it.
- At a $7 or $10 bet, it may also be awarded inside the Gold Spin Bonus, which only those two bet levels can trigger.
Below $5 the rules give no route to the progressive at all, so check the eligibility line before you assume a spin is playing for the meter. The file adds that the odds of the jackpot rise in proportion to the bet, so a $10 spin has twice the chance of a $5 spin, and that the jackpot grows from a fixed share of every bet placed by players playing for it. A win is paid in 20 equal annual installments, or as one discounted lump sum if the winner chooses.
Ruby Riches carries its own named jackpots (Grand, Mega, Major, Minor and Mini) inside the Ca$hLink Deluxe feature, plus a Jackpot slice on its wheel. Our guide to progressive jackpots explains how fixed, game and network jackpots differ.
Floor payback versus online RTP
On a casino floor, the casino chooses each machine’s payback from the settings IGT offers, within the state’s rules. IGT shares the detailed math sheets for its floor games only with casino customers, and no public per-title floor payback figure exists for Wheel of Fortune. So an online RTP tells you nothing about the machine in your local casino, and the reverse is also true. Casino floor vs online covers the difference.
