Double Diamond online is three reels and one payline: you set a line bet, spin, and any winning combination on the line pays its paytable value, multiplied if Double Diamond symbols helped form it. One diamond in a win doubles it, two multiply it by four, and three pay the top award. Diamonds that land with nothing but blanks pay nothing.
Setting the bet on one payline
IGT’s rules file for the online game shows a single bet control: the line bet. There is no line selector, so the line bet is the total bet for the spin, and every win you can land is on that one line. Bet limits are set by each casino, Auto Spin is offered only where a state approves it, and wins are shown in currency.
The same file states that the odds do not change with bet size, previous results, balance or time of day. A bigger bet makes each win bigger in dollars, not more likely.
How the Double Diamond wild works
When one or two Double Diamond symbols land on the payline, they match whatever other symbols are there to complete a win, and the win is then multiplied. Three of them pay the top award.
| Double Diamonds on the payline | Result |
|---|---|
| None | The normal paytable win, if the line forms one |
| One, in a winning line | The win pays 2x |
| Two, in a winning line | The win pays 4x |
| Three | The top award |
| One or two, with only blanks | No win |
Illustration only, with a made-up paytable value: suppose three of one bar symbol pays $1.00 at your line bet. Two of those bars plus one Double Diamond would then pay $2.00, and one bar plus two Double Diamonds would pay $4.00. Your casino’s paytable has the real values.
The Cherry rule
Cherries work differently from every other symbol. Any result with a Cherry on the payline is a winner. One Cherry pays the one-Cherry amount whichever reel it lands on, and two Cherries pay the two-Cherry amount on any two reels.
The wild has a limit here. A Double Diamond can substitute for a Cherry only when a real Cherry is on the payline on another reel. So a Cherry plus a Double Diamond can be paid as a Cherry win with the diamond’s multiplier applied, while a lone Double Diamond with no Cherry and no matching symbols pays nothing.
Any Bar and the results that pay nothing
A line showing a mix of non-matching bar symbols is still a winner, paid as an Any Bar win. A Double Diamond on a winning bar line counts toward the win and applies its multiplier, as on any other winning line.
IGT’s rules list these as losing results:
- A single Double Diamond with no Cherry on the line and no matching non-blank symbols.
- One or two Double Diamonds with the rest of the line blank, which includes two diamonds and a blank.
Where a line could be read as more than one win, only the highest win is paid.
Why one payline keeps the math simple
Every dollar of the bet goes on the same line, so there is no chance of a winning combination landing on a line you did not pay for, a trade-off you do face on Triple Diamond’s nine lines. Your cost per spin is your line bet, which makes a budget easy to track: 100 spins at $1 is $100 wagered.
The published RTP of 95.40% to 95.44% applies to that total wagered over a very long run, not to any one session. Double Diamond’s RTP and volatility shows what that means in dollars.

Questions readers ask
What does the Double Diamond symbol do?
It is the wild. One Double Diamond in a winning line doubles the win, two multiply it by four, and three on the payline pay the top award.
Do two Double Diamonds and a blank pay anything?
No. IGT's rules list two Double Diamonds with a blank as a losing result, and a diamond landing with only blanks pays nothing either.
Does a single Cherry pay on Double Diamond?
Yes. Any result with a Cherry on the payline is a winner, and one Cherry pays the one-Cherry amount on whichever reel it lands.
