Huff N' Puff bonus features: Hard Hat free spins, the Buzz Saw wheel and the jackpots

Huff N’ Puff games have two bonus routes. Land six or more Hard Hats and you get free spins in which the pigs’ frames are upgraded from straw to wood to brick before the Wolf blows the houses down to reveal multipliers and jackpots; land three or more Buzz Saws and a wheel awards one of four jackpots or a feature that gives those free spins a head start. The game’s own jackpots are static prizes tied to your bet, not progressives.

The Hard Hat free spins, step by step

This is the round the franchise is built around, as Light & Wonder describes it for Huff N’ More Puff:

1. Trigger. Land six or more Hard Hats to start six free spins.
2. Build. Each Hard Hat that lands during the feature upgrades the frame it lands in, from Straw to Wood, then to Brick, and finally to a house.
3. Blow down. When the spins end, the Wolf appears and blows the houses away, revealing multipliers and jackpots behind them.

The studio does not publish what each type of house can reveal or whether the spin count resets when a Hard Hat lands, and those details can differ between versions. The help screen in the game shows both for the version your casino runs.

The Buzz Saw wheel

Three or more Buzz Saws spin the wheel. It awards one of the four jackpots or one of three features that set up the free spins. Light & Wonder’s descriptions below come from its page for Huff N’ Even More Puff, which shares these features; for Huff N’ More Puff the studio says only that they help you land Hard Hats and convert frames into houses.

On Huff N’ Even More Puff the wheel can also upgrade to the SUPER Wheel, where the features play on 6x5 reels and a SUPER Jackpot of 7,500 times the bet is on offer. Our page on how Huff N’ Puff plays covers the sequel’s other changes.

The jackpots are static, not progressive

Light & Wonder calls the wheel’s prizes “1 of 4 STATIC Jackpots”. Static means a fixed prize set by the game rather than a pool that grows with play, and on these games the jackpots scale with your bet: a bigger stake brings bigger jackpot amounts, at a proportionally bigger cost per spin. The figures on the wheel at your stake are the ones that apply.

That is why the record win needs explaining. On November 26, 2025 a player in Michigan won $22,407,248.55 on Huff N’ Even More Puff at DraftKings Casino, from a $0.20 bet that Covers reported as the minimum eligible stake. The prize was not one of the game’s four jackpots. It came from a DraftKings cross-title progressive, a separate pool the casino funds with a small share of spins across many games and attaches to titles in its lobby. The pool was reseeded at $5.7 million after the win.

The same game at a casino without such a pool pays only its own static jackpots. Our guide to progressive jackpots on US online slots explains how operator pools like this work, and the Huff N’ Puff overview has the rest of the record-win story.

The bonus rounds are paid for out of the game’s return to players, so the payback setting matters. The Huff N’ Puff RTP and volatility page shows how to check it and what the bonus buy does to your spending.
